My LGBT assistant Hannah has been wanting to do a body painting with me for a while, and happily agreed to let me do an LBGT concept I had been working on.
As we put it together, I wasn’t really digging it. Close up, I was having a hard time thinking that it was coming together the way I wanted it to. I didn’t document the process all too well because I didn’t think I was going to like it.
But, when all was said and done, and I walked away from her and looked at her from a distance, I loved it. In fact, it was one of my favorite pieces I’ve done yet.
Just goes to show that sometimes you’ve gotta zoom out to see what you’re actually working on.
When it was done, I kept thinking… That kinda looks like a monster face. So, I took out my Apple Pencil and had a little fun with it.
